What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
I can't choose just one! But... handmade clothing and gifts are always my favorite projects. I love looking at those items and thinking about the time and effort that went into them, and I always enjoy seeing others enjoying my work.

Adventures in Creating

DIY'ing myself to sanity in my new "One Horse Town". I'm always trying a new DIY technique and like to think my projects are outside the norm of what you see on other DIY/Craft blogs.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite project was slipcovering my parents' old '70s style lounge chair that they had donated to me when I got married. Sewing is not my strong suit, so this was a big accomplishment for me. If you want to try this yourself, click here to read the how-to.

Anyone Can Decorate

Anyone Can Decorate is a mix of home decorating and DIY projects, before and after pictures, and tutorials. I use a lot of vintage and thrift finds and fix them up to be better than new. My blog provides DIY tips, tricks, and ideas to help anyone decorate.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite DIY project would have to be a "glamping" (glamorous camping) project from this past summer. I decorated the entire campsite with candles and decorative accessories. The tent had throw rugs, a bed with fine linens, throw pillows, end tables, and even a hanging chandelier dripping with crystals that I had made. Pulling the entire project together was so much fun, and it came out even better than I had expected!

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My current project is always my favorite—no, really!—but I would have to say that I am pretty proud of the way my altered books for Halloween turned out. I'm even planning to do more for other holidays.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
I created plans for a replica of a 1930s Art Deco Vanity Dresser that was in exact proportion to one my great grandmother had purchased during that era. I only had photos and measurements to go by, but I designed the steps and built it in almost the exact same way as it was constructed at that time. To this day, I don't believe there is another plan for this type of piece available.

Chris Loves Julia

We are young homebodies that bought our first house, a fixer in April 2011. We have been packing in the projects, sharing daily details of our DIY feats and failures, with our toddler, Greta, rooting us on. Our blog is not only a place where we can keep track of our paint colors, or how many times we have moved that art around, or what carpet pad we installed, but also a casual meeting ground to share and chat with our growing number of loyal readers who have joined us for the ride.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
Our favorite DIY? Besides our daughter—wink—our favorite DIY has to be the built-ins in our family room renovation. We had a weird half wall that was driving us crazy, and while the initial plan was just to tear it out and plant an entertainment stand of sorts in its place, we discovered our home's foundation was sticking out into the room, which is why the wall was built there in the first place. We went back to the drawing board and came up with a solution that would disguise the pesky foundation and still be aesthetically pleasing—aka not drive us crazy. The built-ins—a true labor of love—weren't even in the original plan, which is a great reminder to us that even DIY set-backs are sometimes successes in disguise.

It's all done with a healthy dose of humor and love!

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
We're music lovers in my home, so we created a handmade retro "On Air" light box. It brings with it echoes of a long gone era in which men sat in the lobby smoking a cigarette in skinny ties as they waited for the woman belting out her soul in the other room. There's something magical about it and we love seeing it lit up. I also love the chic camera bag I created by sewing houndstooth fabric around foam inserts. People are always impressed when they see me pull my Nikon DLSR out of such a fashionable bag!

Designing Dawn

My blog is a mixture of several different things, but mostly centers around our home and life as we DIY our way to a house we're proud of. We tackle things in a practical and affordable way that almost anyone could handle and try to document it as best we can. Our goal is to create a beautiful home and to provide inspiration for other home owners looking for solutions without spending a ton of money.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite DIY project is actually a combination of projects that resulted in a complete kitchen makeover over the past few years. I painted all the cabinets and added new hardware, we replaced all the appliances, painted the walls, and even gave our counters a DIY facelift with paint and an epoxy finish. We also added new lighting, open shelving, and some other smaller things like window treatments, hanging mugs, and homemade artwork. Overall, the difference in that room is dramatic. My second favorite is our guest bathroom, which we're still finishing up, but we laid tile in there ourselves for the first time ever and I was very proud of us.

Since there are two of us, we each have a favorite. Heather's favorite is the corner hutch she painted, since it was her first time painting something other than a wall. Lani's fave is her dining room board and batten. It was her first go at a real construction project and she loves every aspect of it.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
Simple projects are my favorite. When I realized that black poster board acted just like a chalkboard—able to write and wipe off—I created a fun, inexpensive chalkboard from a thrifted frame. Since then, I have used a poster board chalkboard for several projects.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite DIY project has to be the yellow-stenciled feature wall in our living room. Rather than splurging for designer wallpaper, I bought an inexpensive stencil online. Then I took a weekend to transform the once bland wall into a patterned showstopper. It's really amazing what you can accomplish with a little time, a little sweat, and a little determination.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
The Jack Daniels Bottle Lamp was one of the first liquor bottles we made with a matching lampshade. We added gold colored marbles inside the bottle the color of the previous content. Not only did it hide the cord, but also gave the illusion of the bottle still being filled with liquor. This was our defining moment; most of the bottle lamps we make now still follow the same concept.

I Love Rehabs

Whether it's furniture, rooms, or houses, I am just a girl who has an addiction of making old things new and making normal spaces unique... on a budget of course! My blog is a mixture of inspiring creativity, sharing skills and experiences, and helping others out with their own spaces.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
Favorite DIY Project: I wanted a Chunky Floor Mirror from West Elm, but at $399, the price was not in my budget. When my husband and I were renovating our home we took down some old sliding, mirrored closet doors. Instead of sending them to the landfill, I decided to use one to make a full-length chunky floor mirror like the one in the store. Check it out here.

Joys of Home

Joys of Home is filled with inspiring ideas for making and finding joy in your home. I love to share ideas and photos of inexpensive, yet beautiful ways I decorate for holidays, weddings, or just ordinary days of the year. A home should be a reflection of the people that live there. It should tell your story. All it takes is a little time and creativity!

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
It's hard for me to pick just one favorite DIY project. I would have to say that EVERYTHING we've built using old doors and/or windows has become my favorite. Our homemade DIY furniture is one way we've made our home unique on a budget.

kojodesigns

kojodesigns is a blog run by sisters who live halfway across the world from each other—Kirstin lives in Denver and Jordan lives near Dubai in the Middle East. It's our spot to share our creative endeavors—photography, sewing, party planning, and interior design. We've both been 'blessed' with taste that outruns our budgets, so many of our favorite projects involve making a Kate Spade-esque bag or a J Crew-y skirt. And, we'd contend that we put together enough parties and showers to keep a team of ten busy for a year—although, we love every minute of it.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
Even though we have tons of favorite projects, the Anthropologie-inspired duvet that we made from a set of sheets and some white t-shirts takes the cake. It incorporates our innate love for all things out of our price range with ingenuity, up-cycling and knock-offs—several of our favorite things. Oh, and it's white—both lovely and bleachable.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My most favorite DIY project I have ever completed was the chalkboard I have hanging in our foyer. It was originally a curvy mirror attached to a dresser, but I tore out the mirror and attached plywood to it. I painted the frame white and the plywood with chalkboard paint. Although it's something so simple, it makes such a big statement when you walk in the door... all for a little over 10 bucks!

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
Our Naked Lounge Chair was created to bring awareness to breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We wanted to create something that made a statement, something pink and feminine, something that said "breasts." What could be more perfect than upholstering a chair with a painting of a naked female body? We think our Naked Lounge Chair turned out to be gorgeous and makes a statement with sass and style.

Like Playing House

Like Playing House is a blog that two sisters created to share their inner passion for creativity after both graduating college. Whether it be art, crafts, organizing, budgeting, or cooking, they share all of their DIY projects in hopes of inspiring their readers to find their inner creativity. You don't have to be artistic to be creative and make your home and your gifts reflect your personality.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
Our favorite DIY project has to have been our fancy DIY dry erase calendar. We love it because it was totally easy and cheap, is completely functional for keeping you organized, and has a lot of flair with the twisted wire letters. We hope you love it too! Having been in college for 5 years, it seems there was never enough time to complete all of the homework, studies, and other requirements professors put on us. Here is a tutorial of how to make a fancy dry erase board calendar to keep your schedule organized while dressing up your room or home in a thrifty way that matches your style—I know that this is what you will be making when you are procrastinating on studying for a test!

Little Green Bow

Little Green Bow is a journey of projects made, experiments tried, recipes tasted, places traveled, and other life lessons learned along the way. Life is an adventure! I hope you’ll join me on my DIY adventures and find inspiration to create your ideal life too.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite post, and the most popular on my blog, is about a DIY couch that converts to a queen size bed. My husband and I made the couch for our guest room/office and needed a piece of furniture that was flexible for the space. Since we could not find something we wanted to buy, we made our own, saving money by finding the foam on Craigslist and using paint drop clothes for the fabric.

Love & Renovations

Love & Renovations is about the journey my husband and I are going through as we transform our outdated, '80s builder-grade home into the custom home of our dreams. We are trying to take on as many projects as we can ourselves, and I'm constantly sharing our process, our inspirations, and the small little steps we take towards making our house a home.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My absolute favorite project we've completed is the completely DIY dining room light fixture we designed and constructed. It consists of 80 light bulbs—only 10 of them actually work—and makes a huge statement in our dining room. It's the project we're the most proud of and the one that continues to make us grin like fools on a daily basis!

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite project would have to be my brown paper floors. For one thing, I was able to rid my house of carpet for under $250, and two, it brought so many new readers to my site that I have enjoyed getting to know!

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite DIY project ever is also the most popular tutorial on my blog. It covers how to stain regular oak cabinets a sultry, deep espresso brown color. That tutorial has been pinned thousands of times, and I love that it has launched a movement across America to not settle for builder grade cabinets. I'm proud of that tutorial, and I know it's helped countless people revamp their homes.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite project would be difficult to choose between my ugly fireplace makeover and my kitchen updates. Both were done very frugally. My fireplace was made of bricks and I faced it out with wood and gave it all a fresh coat of white paint. My kitchen is very dark with one tiny window. I updated my '90s oak cabinets with paint, my old counter tops with a granite paint treatment, and my 20 year old vinyl floor with paint. I made my kitchen island out of an old desk.

My favorite DIY project I have ever completed was my hallway. I challenged myself to use a small budget, creative materials, and a unique color combination. I used paint to give it a fresh and fun vibe that I am so pleased with! Creating the floor with a cheap material was a goal I set for myself and I am beyond pleased with how that turned out!

OneFortyThree

My blog is a documentation of a half-finished log cabin my wife and I bought before we were married. We finished the house completely by ourselves with no contractors. We also built our own furniture and have since started an online Etsy Shop where we sell our original pieces. "One forty three" is our address which we spelled out on the front of our house with zinc letters, rather than numbers.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite DIY project currently is our wide-plank flooring which we made ourselves for $1.25/sq. ft. The floors are solid wood and wider than anything we could find available in stores for less than half the cost.

Pink Toes & Power Tools

I call myself a DIY girl with power tools, and Pink Toes & Power Tools is the place where I chronicle both my mishaps and my masterpieces as I go about trying to complete my never-ending to-do list. I have a range of projects that involve sewing machines and paintbrushes, but my main emphasis is on woodworking from a beginner's perspective. Although I'm a long-time DIYer, when I began the blog in the fall of 2010, I was a complete woodworking novice, so readers can follow along on my woodworking journey—with an occassional Ruffle Flower Pillow tutorial along the way—and maybe learn a thing or two with each project.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite project is a Pottery-Barn-inspired storage bed I built for my daughter. I learned a lot during that build and once it was done, I really felt like I was a true woodworker. Sometimes, when I go into her room, I am still a little amazed that I'm the one who built it!

Sticky With Icky

When I am crafting, I love choosing papers, embellishments, flowers, etc., and then seeing the end result when it all comes together. There are so many crafters out there that inspire me on a daily basis—I love being a part of the crafting world.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
My favorite project would have to be my bedroom bedside lamps. They were boring basic lamps when I got them and now they look so beautiful in my bedroom. By making them myself I saved quite a lot of money. Every night when I switch them on I think “I made them. They look this good because of me.” To be honest, it’s a good feeling.

What is your favorite DIY project that you've ever completed?
Almost completed is the kitchen remodel in which we ripped down the ceiling, plastered, added new pendant lighting, installed slate flooring with under-floor heating, added open shelving, and tiled, among other bits and pieces. It's been a challenge and a pleasure—only stained butcher-block countertops and a sink left to install!
