Some enroll in online courses to avoid the commute or to work around their busy schedule, but Heisman Trophy winner, Johnny Manziel, has a new reason for staying clear of his college campus: fame. Manziel, known as “Johnny Football”, was the first freshman to win the Heisman after throwing 26 touchdowns and running for 21 last season as a Texas A&M football star. Despite initially planning to attend an on-campus English class this semester, he dropped the class because his notoriety was too much of a distraction.
“I went one day — it was a small class of 20 or 25 — and it kind of turned into more of a big deal than I thought,” Manziel told the San Antonio Express-News.
Johnny Manziel is now exclusively enrolled in online courses at Texas A&M this semester.
