Free Online Classes for College Credit

College is a huge investment, so wouldn’t it be nice if you could try it out for free first?

In the past, we’ve written about some free college courses available online for your personal development, including those offered by the Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyLifeHackerU, Skillshare, and Codecademy. Now, we’re able to offer you something even better!

According to the New York Times, a slew of public universities are now offering accredited introductory college courses for free, worldwide.

As part of the new “MOOC2Degree” program, colleges like Arizona State, the University of Cincinnati, and the University of Arkansas will convert existing online courses into massive open online courses, or MOOC.

For instance…

  • The University of Cincinnati plans to offer its Innovation and Design Thinking course free, an introductory to earning a master’s degree in business or engineering.
  • The University of Texas, Arlington, has already begun offering a free introductory course for registered nurses who wanted to earn a bachelor’s degree.
