Pixar’s “Up”, In Real Life

CasasYesFlyingHouse_InFlight38-year-old Jonathan Trappe recently took to the sky… in a house… for the second time. The flight brought a scene from the Pixar movie, Up, to life using a cluster of helium balloons to lift a house made of steel, aluminum, and plastic. The manned house rose 8,500 feet into the Mexican sky this past November 18th.

This flight was held in preparation for Trappe’s upcoming sail across the Atlantic Ocean in a life boat suspended by helium balloons. Head on over to Trappe’s blog for more on his (literally) lofty goals.

Jonathan Trappe’s first Up-like flight took place last year and was featured on National Geographic’s How Hard Can it Be? Check out the preview for the program below and let us know what you think of flying houses and international helium balloon trips in the comment section below!
